Wilmington Awning, Shutter & Shade opened its doors on the North Carolina coast in 1977, building a reputation across nearly five decades for craftsmanship, honesty, and an in-house team that doesn't disappear after the install.
In February 2023, the company expanded south — acquiring Affordable Awning Systems and opening a Myrtle Beach showroom to serve the Grand Strand and Lowcountry. Same family, same crews, same standards — now from Wilmington to Savannah.

Every install is performed by a ShadeCoast employee — never a subcontractor. Our team is fully insured with Workers' Compensation and Liability coverage, and they show up to the same job from measurement through service.
We don't sell what works in the Midwest. Every awning, shutter, screen, and fabric in our lineup has been vetted for salt air, UV intensity, and wind loads on this coast.
